when logic sounds good in theory, but then isn't

Say you attempt to open a bottle of wine and fail miserably. You break the cork up into all sorts of pieces and eventually have to shove what's left of it inside the bottle. Then you think, "well I can't re-cork this, so I should drink it all." That sounds reasonable enough. But no, you'd be wrong, and also you'd feel like you tried to drink an entire bottle of wine the next day.

(I swear I'm not a wino, despite this post and the gnat wine post.)
